I'm 38, John is 50, do you think he's too old for me?
I want to marry and have children.
At 50, John wants to marry but isn't sure about wanting children.
Is John stupid to pursue me even though it's obvious that he's not compatible with me?
He KNOWS I want children. He says he's "not sure". So is he STUPID to continue to pursue me, knowing we want DIFFERENT things?
So you think it's OK for him to pursue me. Even though he wants children and I don't.
You know what? If I was to marry a man who didn't want children, I would mistreat him.

you hold all the cards here. act like it! your mature eggs and his geriatric sperm would probably make a child with serious health issues anyway. go find a young guy who wants to be a dad. DON'T SETTLE!!

I think you answered your own question.If you don't get along then no.As far as kids go it's certainly not all it's made out to be.Lotsa responsibility headaches worrying and cost.

Why entertain a marriage that you call the partner stupid over their desires, which haven't even been established yet? Sounds like you're the stupid one. He claimed, via your own writing that he is not sure about wanting children, which you want. So, because of what you want, you call him stupid.
I think he should walk away because the woman he wants is stupid.
