What is the best product file your tax return?

For the common W2 folks, what is a good program to use when filing my taxes?

IMO this has been the worse it's ever been with hidden fees. Well known for  Turbo tax to spring up hidden fees at the end.

Forced to choose deluxe package $50

With no way to back.

Paying to do state return   $30.

(But your only getting $9 back)

Paying fees with your federal return $60.

Just use the IRS site, it's free.  Only a W2, you should be paying $0.  Do state through your state site.

If you made less than $72,000, you should start at the IRS Free File website linked below, rather than at a commercial tax preparer's website.

Never knew. For years I've used turbotax.

If you only have a W2 and don't have anything unique, why aren't you using the free filing tool on the IRS website and with your state?
