Give best answer to what is stamped on the barrel...

Here`s my summation... With exception of those Aguila short shot shells that some foreign country may have chambered a shotgun for, I cannot name an American made shotgun chambered for less than 2 3/4"....not saying there is not...just saying I cannot name it. I can safely say that short shot shells will fire in any longer chamber of the same gauge although I do not recommend continuous use because of residue deposits in the uncovered portion.

Also, a trivia point is that shotgun shells are measured by the after being fired length rather than the unfired length so your 2 1/2" shells are actually 2 3/4".

Not many days left for YA...don`t care about the points...sure don`t give a sh!t about whether or not this is a troll question but I plan to give factual answers to the final date. I do bullsh!t and use sarcasm on occasion but I have every intention of making it obvious to separate the two.

I say it is safe to fire 2 1/2" shells in any chamber longer than 2 3/4"....your pump shotgun or semi-auto shotgun may have issues with loading or cycling shot shell lengths other than stamped on barrel but loaders like Side x Side, Over and Under, Single shot, even the Taurus Judge revolver will perform well with shorter shells.

There are adapters for the Aguila "shorties" to fire in pumps but I have zero experience with them.
