What Country does your last name come from?

Like my last name is “O’Shea”—-Everyone says that’s an Irish last name because of the “O” at the beginning?? What about yours? Where did your last name originate from? What country?

    Hardy.

I don't know where it originated. I don't know 100% what I am. Only what I've heard. Polish without a doubt from my moms side mixed with other stuff from my father's side haha. Irish? Scottish? Don't know.

And no I'm not related to anyone famous with that last name. That would be pretty cool though.

My last name is my husband's surname and it is English. Those particular ancestors came from the Midlands.

O'Shea, Shea and (O')Shee are anglicisations of the Irish O Seaghdha, from the personal name Seaghdha, meaning either "Hawk-like" or "fortunate". The surname arose in south Kerry, on the Iveragh peninsula, where the family held power in the early middle ages.
