What's the point taking down yahoo answer? ?

Now there's no reason reason to go on yahoo. That's basically the only reason I come here.

It used to be yahoo chess and then yahoo answer and now.. what good will it be without yahoo answers?

It's the death of Yahoo, like you I only use it for Answers.  The Journalists they employ to tell news, will just lose their jobs.  Selfishness took away our time wasting but fun activity!

Robert2020, if I wrote to Yahoo Inc, the letter wouldn't get there in time, it's up to Americans to send a tonne of protest letters.

Email and answers. That's the only reason I'm here too! But they say, it's not popular, therefore an embarrassment. Yahoo's public image is on the line. And not generating money--thay say. And people are leaving faster than coming in.

If we all really want to save this, we ALL need to write a letter to Yahoo headquarters, and say so! A paper letter that sits on somebodies desk-- not email. They get deleted.

At least they can keep trying for another 6 months or so. It's not hurting Yahoo. So there's trolls!!! We got to at least try. What have we got to lose

About the only "quality" left in the Yahoo brand

after Verizon bought it is Yahoo Finance.

Companies always make decisions like this. It was a very predictable move. Remember knowing Verizon was gonna take over and thinking “they will probably fix it up and make it how it used to be “?

Well years later and more glitches than ever, meaning they were always planning on shutting it down eventually, just wanted to squeeze all the revenue they could get from it first.

I agree. They didn't even give us a reason.

Does anyone use Yahoo for anything other than email or answers?

I dont know anyone who uses Yahoo search or yahoo news etc. They're shooting themselves in the foot
