Faster processor and USB adapter or lower speed and ethernet?

Will a 1.8GhZ processing speed and USB adapter to connect to wired broadband over a 10m cable give a better performance than an ethernet cable and lower speed of 1.1GHz.

The reason for this, need wired ethernet broadband connection to work outside on laptop, understand a USB connection loses speed over a long cable (which need to use) and it's therefore better to have an ethernet, however, most new laptops tend to have USB instead.  Given the 2 above options, which is the best to go for?

USB Ethernet adapters use just the same CAT 5e/6 cable as any other Ethernet connection and 10 meters is nothing lengthwise.  A USB Ethernet adapter is just a little dongle that gets inserted into the slot that accepts CAT cable (RJ-45).  Like this:

https://www.amazon.com/uni-Ethernet-Internet-Compa... is important is the USB version on the PC you are using. USB 3.0 will get you 1 GbE, but USB 2 will only likely get you 100 MbE.  What is the bps or Ethernet speed of the broadband connection you are using?

Depends on the USB speed as there are 3 different ones now so Gigabit Ethernet best bet since the router speed will determine the actual transfer speeds no matter what you connect to it...

    processor speed can be ignored.

the processor MODEL NUMBER is far more important.

as for laptops with no ethernet port, just don't buy one.

get on the internet, you'll have WAAAY more options...

avoid the ones that say "thin" or "slim".

Neither. You are yet another person about to fall into the trap of buying a cheap laptop. This is a mistake, as it is guaranteed not to perform the way you want. Buy a used one on eBay or Free Geek if you're on a budget. There is 𝐚𝐛𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐧𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 to buy either computer you have described.
