Do many Americans know that the internet is worldwide?

Self absorbed is right. 

Some Americans are surely narrow minded. 

But others, like me, are worldwide and have broad horizons. 

I have been on numerous continents and I am multilingual. 

I've been using the internet for 25 years and have chatted online with MANY foreign people. 

I had a cellphone in 1985 when they cost $3000 and they were only mounted in automobiles.

a lot of social media are american sites like youtube for example which is literally the most popular site on the internet. also if your using an american version of something, then theres your answer. i didnt really think anyone would have to explain this to a person over 7 but its the internet what do you expect

Some Black Americans in Detroit don't even know what State they're living in ............ Had never went outside of Chicago ..............  good to have a 0.04 GPA ........... Don't even know who's their President or Senator ............ They only get their News/culture from watching Youtube and Tik Tok  + Hip Hop songs 

There are 320 million Americas with a few million illegals.  This country is so bad that people including children, literally die trying to get this this racist, sexist and homophobic country.  After all, that is ALLLLLL we ever hear about.

As I said many times over that the Americans people only living in this world for not more than 3 Centuries , so her people with different races and colors living in US.,then never known what the old Civilizations of more than thousands of years of the world is, so to what you mention above is not strange to me . Hence, US. people then being contain in that limited region, with out seeing the light of the old Civilizations of Asia , Europe and Africa which were the cradle of Civilization of mankind. That is why , US, trying to do its worse to destroy the Civilizations of mankind by creating the proxy wars all over the globe, as we see.

If you mean on this site it's because they're using the US version of it but Y/A seems to just cobble all the question in English together. You have to have some social IQ to be able to figure out where the Q is coming from.

You do realize that the internet was started in the U.S., don't you? That the people who created the public access to it called it the World Wide Web, thus the www at the beginning of any url? You also know that the underlying language of the computer code is in English, written by Americans?
