1986 Toyota Celica GT-S?

GO TO EDMONDS for VALUE at this time! The MIATIAS are STILL rated HIGHLY as well! The JAPANESE are TOTAL engineers! Get an INSPECTION of the F suspension! RUST is COMMON on many JAP cars! They do NOT NEED ROAD SALT in JAPAN! THAT is VERY VERY OLD! I hope that ALL the fluids have been CHANGED every 5-6 years! Is the BRAKE FLUID dark brown??? ALL these fluid must be changed every 2-3 years with FRESH fluid! The TRANS COOLANT STEERING should be changed NOW at just OVER  100,000 miles! HOW are the TIRES and BRAKES??? the GOOD news is that there MAY be only ONE operating computer here! WSH THE ENGINE BAY with GUNK ORANGE ORIGINAL to clean the WIRING HARNESSES up to BRAND NEW! The ENGINES are SUPER well made and there will probably be NO unusual ENGINE wear! I would be CONCERNED about RUST on the UNIBODY!  

Toyota was still at their best in 86 and all 86 Toyotas were extremely well made.

I had a 86 RWD corolla SR5 and i put 460,000 miles on it and the only things i ever needed to replace were the brakes, muffler, and tires.

Everything else was original and still solid.

The kid who bought it from me turned it into a drift racing car and ran it for years on the track

There are a couple of ways to get an idea:

1. NADA has classic car values and for some models ways to factor in options. (nada.com).

2. There is a reference book that is published for older cars such as yours and older which lists car values based on desirability. Some times these are in the reference section of the public library.

3. Check out e-bay for closed auctions.

4. See if any are for sale in Hemmings Motor News (also to be found at hemmings.com)

5. Try to buy one, use a car locator for the US and see what some one else is selling them for. 

I am guessing about 6,000 US dollars if you can find a buyer! There is no doubt a buyer out there that wants this car,  but finding them or them finding you is the problem. 

I dated a woman that had one when I was in college in the early 90's. Seriously fun car! That was the first year of the FWD Celicas and the GT-S was the top of the line trim. The 1986-89 Celica GT-S is  the only Toyota we ever received here in the US with the high tech 3S-GE; The Celica GT and Camry used the milder 3S-FE. I can't even begin to tell you what this car is worth, but it is a gem. I couldn't find any for sale and safe to say, they are not only a rare gem, but they are becoming even more rare than the lower production GT convertible and possibly the All Trac turbo. People drove these, whereas a lot of the convertibles and All-Tracs were seen as possible collector models when new. From what I see, these have become the rarest out there. How much will that help the value of them? Bring A Trailer is probably your best bet if you're selling. that seems to be the place for people who truly appreciate cars. Your GT-S looks beautiful! If I was in the market, I'd offer you money for it. It would make an awesome Radwood candidate! Damn, the attention that car would get.....

The sought after Celica models are the I6, RWD Celica GT-S Supra models from the previous generation.  

A 1986 model is the first year of the FWD chassis.  The more rare/collectible models from from the 4th generation are the convertible and the Turbo All-Trac ( w/AWD ).

I'm not saying your car is worth only pennies but I think you're dreaming if you think it's worth $15,000
