Is 50 minutes for a test that has 50 multiple choice questions reasonable?

I am struggling in a college class because pretty much our only graded work are exams which is 50 minutes for 50 questions and I feel that I need more time and taking into consideration that information is pretty much thrown at us and you don't really know what will specifically be on the test (the test is NOT memorization you have to have a complete understanding of everything which I need time to read and think about the question).

It is a timed online exam so unfortunately I cannot take more time

Any way you can get lots of sample questions so you can practice on your speed?

sure.  if you actually know your stuff, it takes about 20 seconds to answer one question

so take more time...your teacher actually cannot fail you for taking longer....you can sue

If you have a complete understanding of everything, things get easier and quicker, not harder.  A MC question that you know the answer to should take 20-30s max. Sounds like you're cramming instead of understanding, or overthinking and getting crippled by analysis paralysis.  Go through each question and jot down the first answer that comes to mind.  Those you might be confused by, put a star next to it.  Spend more time on those, and just answer what your intuition says for the rest.  If you understand the material it will be right.
