Will my children in the future one day be autistic because I am?

There is still research being done on the genetic heritability of ASD, but there does seem to be a correlation.

Correlation is NOT causation, Gypsy. It never has been. And there's no proof that exposure to pesticides causes Autism, either in California or anywhere else. As for the person who asked this question, it's entirely possible that you might have an Autistic child in the future, because Autism is largely genetic in origin. There will be some huge future medical advances once we understand the chemistry of our own DNA a little better, and some of those will have to do with our understanding of Autism spectrum disorders and their origins, as well as how to treat and prevent ASD's in the first place.

One genetic cause of Autism has already been identified-namely, Fragile X Syndrome, which causes Autism in boys and men and premature menopause in women. If there is one such cause, there will likely be others. It's just a question of finding them and figuring out how to treat them when they happen.

It IS CLEAR that autism runs in families.  Genetic markers have been found, but it is not just one gene, so its complicated.  its not a specific hereditary pattern like recessive and dominant genes where they know will be a 25/50 percent chance.

Scientist DO KNOW that it is hereditary and runs in family.  they just don't have specific data yet on the percent chance of your child having autism.  To get that there needs to be a large study of parents with autism and what percent of their kids were also affected.  I would say at least 10,000 parents to start with.  They also have to look at the rates of 1 parent having autism and 1 neurotypical.  It will not be an exact chance, but rather a ball park figure of the risk.

It has only been fairly recently, that more people diagnosed with autism are having children of their own.  A generation ago, people with mild symptoms often weren't diagnosed.

I don't think scientists fully understand autism yet. There may be many contributing factors, and one of them may be genetic. However, there's clearly something else going on, since many non-autistic parents have autistic children. I've read one study showing a very strong correlation between pesticides used in agricultural areas of California with rates of autism, for example, so there are almost certainly environmental factors. Autism is NOT caused by vaccinations. That's been thoroughly disproved. 

@MP -- that bit about vaccines has zero reputable scientific backing.  it is more likely that autism and a series of other issues are related to excessive cleanliness and thus lack of dirt carried ordinary germs and organisms.  Humanity evolved over the past few million years in direct daily contact with dirt ... it would be unsurprising to discover [one day] that the interaction between humans and dirt is necessary for long term health and development.  -- grampa

It is a possibility, but it is not genetic: more that they will learn their behavior from a parent, unless you take care to avoid that happening.

Probably not. Autism seems to be linked to environmental factors, vaccines administered too early and too close together or old age of the father (much like down syndrome is linked to the old age of the mother). Also Autism is not the worst thing that could happen to you, the brain is just wired differently for different purposes, some of them genius and outside of the box.
