Do most people believe in cultural appropriation?

No, the entire premise is total BS. Its just more nonsense made up to help push the race wars that some our current subversives are trying to foment. 

Am I appropriating someone else's culture if I buy a shirt that is of a design and color more intune with another land?  Some would say i have no right to wear that shirt.  I say if I like a shirt I have a right to wear it.

Or is it Culture appropriation if I open a sushi bar even though i have European heritage? No, it just means I have an idea to make a cool sushi bar and want to try it.

All of this current PC nonsense is stupid and I refuse to bow down to any of it. And woe to the fool who gets in my face about it, or tries to get me fired because of it.

Cultural "appropriation" is a myth perpetuated by sjw types who whether knowingly or  unknowingly promote (hidden) racism. By telling people not to borrow from other cultures you are teaching them that we are all separate and should be kept that way. 

We all live in this world and by now we should all have learnt to get along and share our experiences, cultures, tastes etc. And not be "this is our way not yours/theirs, or that is your/their way not ours" Look at a group of toddlers together, they don't care that one of them is from a white/asian/black family or that one of them has a disability. Difference in race/ability/etc is taught by the adults around them. 

What annoys me most about people who whinge about cultural appropriation by members of their own group* is that they're generally the ones who insist on a multi-cultural society, and that we should all learn from each other and share our cultures.

*I'll give an example: I'm very, very white with blond hair. I played Afro-Caribbean music with a Brasilian based band for over 10 years. While performing at a Caribbean Carnival one of my bandmates, herself of Afro-Caribbean descent, decided my (at the time) long, blond hair should be in cornrows. After the gig I was accosted by a white girl who remonstrated about my 'cultural appropriation' and that I had no idea of the significance of cornrows to the African community. Her argument was somewhat diminished (in my eyes at least) by the fact that she appeared to be wearing a fila, a traditional bit of headwear from the Yoruba culture worn by men...

imagine being mocked for the hair you were born with, and for hairstyles only your culture had specifically made for themselves, and they were mocked and ridiculed about it because of your culture and because of their racism

now a few decades or a hundred years later there are people of that same group who had once mocked and made fun of the people in ur culture for their hair, copied that same hairstyle to make it all trendy, and also said questionable things about it

obviously youd be offended, and this is why minorities hate when people approppriate things that are part their culture, especially when they dont know the history behind what theyre approppriating, and just think its some trend

then there are also people who culturally appreciate, who understand the history behind it and respect it

blues music wouldn't exist without the influence of Celtic music and non-black instruments such as the harmonica (German instrument) and guitar (Spanish instrument). Rock n roll is a fusion of blues and country music. Country music derived from Western which derived from Celtic music. Jazz wouldn't exist without the influence of classical music and the piano (Italian instrument) and saxophone (Belgian instrument). Rap, techno and house music wouldn't exist without the German electronic band Kraftwerk. Music as an art came from Europeans. Europeans created things like counterpoint, written music sheets, music theory, etc. Music became organized and philosophical. European culture spread to the Americas and led to the creation of the many genres we see today such as country, rock, blues, etc. They all originate from Europe.

Soul food is a hodgepodge of Native American and European food. BBQ sauce was invented by English, French and German Americans. Gumbo is cajun. Cornbread is Native American. Chicken fried steak is German/Austrian. Pancakes are Greek. Fried chicken originated from Scotland. Waffles originated from Belgium (just like King Leopold II who rightfully exterminated 10 million black people). Peanut butter was invented by the Incas. Potato chips were invented by a white Englishman named William Kitchiner.

Black people are not even the original Africans. Most mammals have light skin that is covered by fur, and biologists believe that early human ancestors started out this way also. Dark skin probably evolved after humans lost their body fur, because the naked skin was vulnerable to the strong UV radiation as explained in the Out of Africa hypothesis. Humanity literally wouldn't exist without white skinned Africans. Black people pathetically try to claim the first African (Lucy) was a black woman when she was actually Australopithecus Afarensis. A species that existed LONG before black people or any homo-sapiens existed. black people have up to 19% genomic contribution from unidentified archaic hominids making them less human than non-blacks. It's easier for blacks to believe in lies than to actually do research.

It does not matter one way or another what most people believe. It only maters if it is allowed under the law and under human rights policies. For example, if most people believe that we should not pay taxes, then does it mean that taxes can never be levied?  Of course not. 

"Cultural appropriation" is obviously a senseless, hateful, divisive, hypocritical brain-fart of the kind that comprises the entire intellectial universe and armoury of the left-wing.

Is it wrong to claim an ethnicity if you don't even speak the language? Yes

Is it wrong to claim that your great-aunt was a cherokee princess or that coleslaw and apple-pie are american inventions? yes

Is it wrong for "white" people to wear mohawks or dreadlocks? No
