Can you randomly develop a peanut allergy?

Earlier today I ate a pb&j and was fine but a few minutes ago I started to eat a spoon of peanutbutter and now my lips and mouth are tingling and I feel really warm? Idk what else it could be but I've never had issues before?

What was on your spoon before getting peanut butter?

I ate a peanut butter sandwich for lunch every workday for about 20 years, and now I can't eat it anymore. In fact, I've also developed an allergy to tree nuts too.

You might wait a week or so and then try eating some natural peanut butter, to be sure it's not some other ingredient that's setting you off.

Yes you can. You can develop an allergy with repeated exposures as your immune system gets primed with each encounter.  Think about bee stings. You can get stung once, twice or even three times, but on the fourth you have an allergic reaction. Thats because the immune system gets primed with each exposure until the stimulus causes a reaction.  The same can happen with foods.  Peanuts are among the most allergy inducing foods for many reasons.

one of the problems with GMO food that they don't talk about is that it can give you allergies to stuff you were never allergic to before .
