Should i ask my friend to be my sperm donor?

my friend has a one year old son and is trying for his second child with his partner of three years. they have both told me separately that should i want a baby without having a male partner, he would donate his sperm through NI or natural insemination. his partner is perfectly fine with it as it would be a business transaction and not an affair.

my problem is that i am barely 20, i live at home with my parents and i am still in full time education and self-employed. i know that i should wait until i am older but i want a baby now

It sounds like you are really not ready for this yet, therefore, wait until you're older and married.

No. You can make it legally complicated for him.  Get "invitro". So there is no one to blame but yourself. IMHO  A kid is going to cost you Tens of Thousands of dollars to raise. Get a puppy. You want a kid. Try an orphanage...to test drive it.  "ET phone home."

A professional fertility specialist or doctor may not advise you to ask someone you know to be a sperm donor. ... Same sex couples and even parents couples who can't have more children might even consider asking a family member or friend to be a sperm donor.

You can have a baby if you want to but you need to remember that your social life will go straight to hell. And so will most of your freedom.  You won't sleep a lot during some nights for the first year most likely, which will leave you tired AF.  You'll need medical insurance, a reliable vehicle because babies have to go to the doctor for immunizations. well baby check ups, and they also get sick sometimes.  You'll have to provide diapers and disposable diapers are very expensive.  Then, there's formula if you're not breast feeding.  The kid will need a crib and clothing and other items.  I hope you have a good job, because you're going to need it.

You are too young to be this desperate.

Maybe naive, too. Maybe what they really want are sex tapes.

The maternal urge sounds strong but why would you volunteer to raise the child by yourself. Why not find a partner first which will make it so much easier. It's great you want kids but if you're doing it purely because you want one without considering your current life situation then that's jumping the boat.

You need to be financially stable with your own place.

It's the most stupid thing I've ever heard. Grow up.

A person knows she is prepared to be a parent when she is able to put aside what she might want at the moment and do what is in the best interests of the child. It is in no child's best interest to be born to a single parent who lives with her parents and is going to school full time.

Consider this time of waiting for the circumstances to be right to be the first of many sacrifices a good parent makes for her children.

You can't even take care of it! You aren't even in a state mentally mature wise to raise a child right now either. So no you can't do it!
