Is it possible for someone to pretend to not have autism?

I have autism, I have an old friend of mine who is autistic and we used to hang out all the time throughout high school, but in our senior year, we started to fade away. Shortly after we graduated high school I found out his mother (who is extremely overprotective of him) was thinking that I'm pretending not to have autism to make friends with people who do not have autism. That comment made me and my mom really mad. Is it possible for an autistic person who pretend they don't have autism?

Sometimes, if a person is on the part of the Autism spectrum where the symptoms aren't as visible or apparent, the answer to your question is yes. But that's not true all the time.

Yes but why should they hide who they truly are to appease neurotypical master race fascists.
