Should Joe Biden push for a national mask requirement in public places until we get a vaccine?
33 states and the District of Columbia already have one. The other states “strongly encourage” face masks.

I think he should. Also he should wear one himself when he gathers with others, so as not to send a mixed message. Just a month ago I did a trip around the 'interior west'--Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, Utah, Nevada--and even though every store had a sign that masks were required, only about half of men wore them. Today those are the states where COVID is growing the strongest.
There's good news about the vaccine today! Maybe this won't go on two more years, like we were worried it might.

He should lockdown the country because covid cases are at record high. This is why people chose him over Trump. Biden needs to do the right thing.

Mr. Biden will be sworn in on January 20th. Most pharma companies are anticipating we'll have a viable vaccine by roughly March. So it's questionable how worth it it may be to fight for such a cause come that time, especially with a Republican senate eager to block virtually anything and everything.

If I were Biden, I'd call a meeting of all the governors and let them air their feelings about masks as a first step.

that would go against CDC guidelines which recommend masks "when distancing guidelines cannot be met."
weren't "over reach," "acting on fear" and "ignoring the CDC" bad when Trump did it?

Not in the street.
