Interviewer: "I see that you had an internship in 2019, but you did not have an internship in 2020. Can you tell me what you did in the summer?"
Me: "Yes, I did not do well with my interviews for the summer of 2020. I was discouraged and a little depressed. But I realized that I have to continue pushing forward, I told myself that I have to continue. In the last 2 months of my summer, I was spending 20 to 30 hours on fundamentals and learning new technology and worked on a project"

It wasn't the greatest answer. Who wants to take on someone who admits they didn't do well and got depressed.
You must remain positive. Ok, you didn't do an intern ship, but you could have said other positive things...
