Since imaging satellite. only gains 30cm resolution on earth, can hubble telescope gain better resolution if pointed to earth?

    My guess is a total eclipse of the Sun by Earth occurs most days multiple times as viewed from Hubble Space telescope, but the eclipse only lasts a few minutes. At other times, I understand that sensors of Hubble would be damaged, because Earth is too brightly lighted, by the Sun. They would not want to risk that Hubble might be damaged, and our allies would be fearful that Hubble is being used as a spy satellite.

    Hubble isn't designed to take high res images from short distances. It's designed to take pictures from a long distance. That's like using high powered binoculars to read somthing directly in front of your face. It's not gonna work well, and your not gonna be able to focus in on somthing that close.

    If it focusses on Earth surface that it doesn't do as per its design.
