Law and Ethics: Pit Bull attacks?

recently on toddlers: one three year old girl was viciously attacked by three pit bulls who left one side of her face permanently paralyzed and she will have to undergo multiple surgeries. On the way home from the initial hospitalization, her grandmother stopped at KFC at the child's request for mashed potatoes, and KFC asked them to leave because they were "disrupting" their customers--good ol' redneck term "disrupting" (like calling persons "individuals")--because of her scars. Also recently another toddler was attacked by two pit bulls. Is there any legal argument for banning the breed form the United States?

How about banning low IQ irresponsible people. The grandparents were criminally charged in that case.

The whole breed should not be condemned but, it might be a good idea that a seller would have to provide a 10 generation pedigree with no inbreeding and if the seller could not do that, then the puppies could not be legally sold. Another measure that would have to be in place would be that anyone owning one would have to have a 10 year no inbreeding pedigree and be able to show it at any time to anyone in authority and veterinarians could not treat a dog without having one and, would have to call the police and have the dog confiscated without one.

No. A dog of any breed can attack somebody. Banning the breed isn't the answer. The breed isn't the problem. Irresponsible owners who don't properly train and socialize their animals are the problem. Some of the friendliest dogs I know are pit bulls.
