I know what the answer is already, I just want someone to explain the steps for me.

    if you are given the area (11 + √112) units^2, then the side is:

    s^2 = area

    s = √(11 + 4√7)

    perimeter = 4s = 4√(11 + 4√7) units

    the radical of the radical can be simplified to:

    √(11 + 4√7) = 2 + √7

    so...the perimeter is: 8 + 4√7 units

    If the area of a square is 11 +√112,

    calculate its perimeter.

    If area = s^2, perimeter = 4s

    s^2 = 11 + 4√7

    s = 4.6458

    4s = 18.5832

    The perimeter of the square is 18.5832.

    A = 11+√112 = s²

    so s = √(11+√112)

    perimeter = 4s

    perimeter = 4√(11+√112)

    this can be simplified a bit

    √112 = √(7•4•4) = 4√7

    perimeter = 4√(11+4√7)
