Does anyone know how to buy/acquire a service dog?

I live in Florida. Our dog died a few months ago.

My son has seizures (age 16), and would most definitely qualify for a medical service dog.

Most of the sites I have seen offer classes to train your dog. However, I do not have the wide-open, large chunk-of-time necessary to consistently train a puppy well.

Again, my son would qualify, and I am happy to pay money for a well-trained service dog. Anyone know of a place in FL or GA to get one?

There are many, many retired racing greyhounds now being used as service dogs for Veterans and for medical seizure alert dogs. Being in Florida - you are in the middle of the largest population of retiring Greyhounds in the world.

Call some of the local rescue groups and they can put you in touch with who can help train the dog for you and get you going.

You would be better off approaching an epilepsy advocacy organization, such as the Epilepsy Foundation, who can put you in touch with service dog users locally.
