Why is one subwoofer is louder than the other?

I have two sub-woofers enclosed in the back of my car. One is working but the other works but extremely weak. The previous owner said that both worked before. Like I said the weak sub-woofer works but not very loud as the other one. Could it be a connection issue or could the sub-woofer be blown? What do you think is the problem?

Check to see if your (+) and (-) are running to the correct terminals, if they aren't then switch them, if they are I would look into other connections. If the problem persists I would say the woofer is blown. Check to see if the woofer is making any strange sounds when it is playing or if you are just pushing on it. Good luck and hope this helped

The easy way to check the subs is to swap the wires from one sub to the other. If the same subwoofer is weak, then you have a bad sub. If the other subwoofer is now the weak one. You have a connection issue or other problems.

Can you switch the wires between subwoofers? If you can and the problem is the same, I would expect a blown speaker. If the problem moves I would check wiring or amp.
