3.9L LZ9 GXP swap into a Fiero?

I'm looking into doing a swap with the '07 G6 GXP drive train into an '88 Fiero. I have heard you can use the stock mounts with some minor adjustments and the trans will fit perfectly besides shorter axels. Does ANYONE have any info on this particular swap? A guide or any necessary parts would be helpful.

You really need to go to an information source where people do things like that.

For an engine swap, check out Pennock's Fiero Forum at http://www.fiero.nl/cgi-bin/main.cgi and the Yahoo Fiero Group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FIERO/

I would bet on Pennock's people having more info on something this hard core but they can be a bit condescending to beginners or projects "they think" are bad ideas.

The Yahoo group is good for more average information on the car and is very friendly.

I know the GM 3.8 L is a popular swap in those cars. The LZ9 is based on the old 60 degree GM V6, It's not related to the 3.8L I would guess that it would be possible, but I haven't heard of anyone doing it.
