Fiero rotor rub issues?

My 88 Fiero GT has the big 13" brake kit and is lowered a lot. My lower control arms however like to rub the rotors when I turn sharp or turn the wheel all the way. It's not gouging, but it's leaving a very noticeable ring on the two front rotors.. is there ANYTHING I can do besides raising the car?

Wheel spacers (other answerers solution) would be very dangerous if used behind the disks. They are a bad idea in general unless you are just showing the car and not driving it regularly. They put larger forces on various parts of the suspension that you don't want and mess up the handling by pushing the centerline of the wheels out.

This is what happens when you do mods to look cool (in most cases, increasing the disk size will not improve your braking) without working on the full system.

Very few people here know Fieros well and I have not studied this narrow topic other than to say to check the mechanics of the parts to shift them.

Roger's answer is ok but shows an ignorance of the car. ALL Fiero's have a front bar and ALL 88's but none of the earlier ones came with a rear bar. The bars hold the opposite end of the car on the road better. The rear bar wasn't put on the earlier cars because it is safer for most drivers if the front breaks free first if they get into trouble so that the car goes straight instead of spinning. The bars will have no effect on the geometry of the suspension for rubbing of the rotors and the control arms.

do no longer mess with it in any respect!!!....if it basically has 1000 miles, and is new, you have a 2 year guarantee. Take it back and characteristic the save examine it out. this would actaully be typical, the pads basically retract removed from the rotor via some thousandths of an inch. HD's new Nissin and Brembo calipers are appropriate notch and you mustn't be having problems with them with so few miles. If there fairly is a project, that's going to be lined decrease than guarantee till they locate it replaced into brought about via rider blunders or abuse.

How old is the suspension? anything that's been on there since the beginning like the springs toss them in the trash and buy new ones. If you do not have a anti roll bar on the front this can also help tie down any side to side motion and as a bonus your car will handle better. I would buy some top quality aftermarket springs if at all possible.
