Supercharger elevation question?

I'm Getting A Car With A 3.8L grand Prix SC Engine And Am Wondering If A 3800Ft Elevation Change Could Cause The SuperCharger To Break Or Anything. It Has A Mass Air Flow Sensor, So It Will Adjust Timing A But, But I Would Like Some Other Opinions.

You have nothing to worry about here. A change in elevation will not damage your supercharger or your engine. In fact, by having the supercharger at a higher elevation, your car will actually behave exactly the same as it does at sea level. You will make slightly less boost at lower rpms, but lower boost won't hurt anything and may help your fuel mileage :)

As far as the timing goes, the engine computer uses input from the mass air flow meter, manifold absolute pressure meter, and the intake air temperature sensor to adjust timing and the amount of fuel injected. The computer will account for any changes in air pressure and temperature, which keeps your engine running smoothly and efficiently.

    I hope this helps.

superchargers create their own pressure for engine, lower elevation helps power - more air. this engine self-adjusts, quit worrying. If you want to pump it up you can get a smaller dia. pulley on the SC. And a tune.
