What kind of animal is this?
I know that this animal is a canid, or a dog of some type, whether its a wild coyote breed, or some kind of wolf version, I cannot find anything online to tell me what it really is.
It looks like a coyote in the face, but it has no tail and an odd speckling of black and white on its back, like a blanket.
Anyway, heres the picture .... http://s202.beta.photobucket.com/user/jaywizardess... .... if anyone knows what this is, or can point me to a site that has a listing of dog/coyote/wolf species that has pictures, that would be really great.
Thanks for your time!

You are thinking of the wrong continent. Try a black backed jackal facing a griffon vulture.

That's an amazing photo! Anyway, it's definitely a black-backed jackal. You can tell because of the large patch on its back. And yes, they do look a lot like coyotes, but coyotes do not have a black patch on their back. Just google search the name and you will find dozens of websites telling you about them.

It's probably a Black-backed jackal. It's easy to know because the Black-backed jackal has a black colored back (that is where it gets its name).

It's to small to be a coyote. It looks like a fox to me.
