People before Jesus, how were they saved?

I don't mean to offend anyone, I am sincerely curious, I do not follow any religion in particular but I do believe in a kind good God, now, my question is, maybe someone can explain it to me, If (according to christian belief) you can only be saved by accepting Jesus Christ as your lord and savior, what ever happened to the many many many people who were born and lived BEFORE Jesus, what about those that didn't know OF Jesus till now, did they go to hell? Do they get to be born again and perhaps turn to Christ?

You can follow Christ without knowing you are doing so.

There's no such thing as being saved before Jesus, and there's no such thing as receiving jesus into your life. How can an imaginary figure somewhere come into somebody? The bible is all bunch of fair tale stories made up by men and the bible invented christianity. Scientists and Atheists does not prove them as real.

    Good question!

Accepting Christ as your Savior means that you're putting your faith in His sacrifice - as well as admitting your own sinful state and saying that God's way is THE way. We're trusting in the fact that God made a way when there was no way, and that Christ's blood covers our sin. See, Christ "became sin" (our sin) on the cross and was punished for our sins. He also has given us His righteousness - so that we're blameless before God.

Paul (I believe) tells us that it's because of Abraham's faith, that he was saved. Those who looked for the coming of the Savior and trusted in God (who had faith that there would come a time when all would be accounted for) were saved. God could forgive them in the past because He knew that Christ would come in the future! All sins would be accounted for on the cross (for the faithful). They were forgiven the exact same way that we're forgiven - by trusting in God.

They also had laws and sacrifices, but those did nothing but further show their sinful state. The laws and sacrifices did not save them, Christ saved them.

    The Old Covenant...

The Jews used to repent of their sin, offer sacrifices onto God as well as follow the Law ... though their actions were insufficient, for those who did so faithfully, said actions were made sufficient through the death of Christ who died for past, present, and future sins.

"You can only be saved by accepting Jesus Christ..."

That's a watered down version of the Gospels. There are in fact two ways one can be saved; by following the Law PERFECTLY, which no one can do, or by accepting God's gift of salvation.

By coming to God in The Way He prescribes.... as it was in the beginning, so will it be until The End

there was a covenant between God and Adam and his descendants... keeping that covenant faithfully preserved ones soul until the time Christ would come..... then God made a covenant with Noah and His descendants... keeping that covenant preserved those souls.... then God make a covenant with Abraham and his descendants..... then with Moses and The Nation of Israel..... each new covenant came about after most of those of the covenant were failing to live up to it...... God finally gave the world one last chance.... and God's son paid the sin debt of all of man-kind..... so that ALL who would come to God would have The Way prescribed by God, to come to Him and claim His free, and eternal, gift of Salvation............... that is the Final covenant...... no more chances..... God commissioned The True Church, with His Son Jesus The Christ as The Head..... those who come to God in The Way He prescribes, become a part of The Body of The True Church...... those are the ones of The True Christian Faith..... Only those of The True Church will enter Heaven.

    I also confused.

Many christian people can't answer this. Maybe they save if they followed another prophet that life before Jesus.

I was raised Catholic, but told God to get out of my life in my teens. Much to my surprise, He did, for a while.

I sank into a deep depression to the point of total despair. Then one day as I lay on my face crying, something totally unexpected happened. A voice spoke a simple word into my heart saying "Maybe Jesus really did die for my sins." Instantly the depression and despair left, and in its place a hope, a good expectation of things to come; and somehow I knew my sins were forgiven for Jesus' sake, and that I had peace with God, and was destined for heaven.

I felt at that time a love, peace and joy like I never knew existed. I had never even heard of such a thing, but I learned some time later the Bible calls this being "born again". I became totally changed in my attitude towards God and people. I stopped my lying ans stealing and hating others that day. and began to love God and others as myself.

Adam, Eve, Abel, Lot, Abraham, Noah, David, Joshua, and many other people who lived before Jesus; day were all believers. All these patriarchs went to a COOL place in hell called Paradise. These people could not go to heaven because they still had the stain of sin in or on them because there was no blood that could fully cleanse them enough to go to heaven.

When Jesus shed his blood( His blood was 100 percent effective at cleansing sin from us because he was God) he made it possible for us to go to heaven, by faith. When he died he went to Hades or Hell to Set the Captives Free. HE had the keys of hell. He spoke to the people in Paradise or a COOL place in hell, once they believed on him, by faith, they were set free to go to heaven.

Believing God is all that is required to go to heaven. Today we need to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. His finished work on the cross. His blood sacrifice. THere is no remission of sins without the shedding of blood.

they were under the Old Law they were saved by being righteous for trying to live right also those who did this. were covered by the blood of Jesus too his blood went backward in the past to cover those who did right and went forward in time to cover us. when we obey the Gospel . when we are born again going under water we come in contact with his blood.Read Romans chapters 2.3 all Galatians and Ephesians if you truly want to understand this subject

properly provided that there is no such element as time the place God is, and prophecies of Jesus and what he will do for us existed long earlier it even occurred, absolutely everyone who believes in God will nonetheless be saved and Jesus died for their sins besides whether they died earlier it truly occurred. because of the fact as quickly as your soul leaves this actual international time ceases to exist. Sorry i'm no longer very sturdy at explaining, yet i desire you recognize :) in actuality the Bible is somewhat clean that God judges all and sundry truly and that one and all individuals are sinners. so as long as you think in God and take a inspect your maximum suitable to do his will, do no longer on objective circulate against him, you would be saved. Jesus died for all individuals. Edit: In answer on your extra info, God Judges justly, he's familiar with of precisely what's on your heart. the rich guy from the story that some human beings quoted right here became no longer saved because of the fact he did no longer have faith in God and did no longer do his will (he did no longer care with regard to the unfavourable guy death by his door whilst he would have truly helped him). And on the top of the story, whilst the guy talks to Abraham approximately his brothers, it truly is somewhat clean that his brothers are the precise comparable way as him.. they understand with regard to the Bible and the prophets yet they *choose* to ignore approximately it in simple terms like the rich guy did whilst he became alive. Please don't be discouraged, God is in simple terms and he supplies all individuals various possibilities yet on the top of the day it truly is as much as us to take them or no longer.
