when everything, even hope, is gone. there is no candle just a curiosity so strong it keeps me going even in darkness so dark you cannot see your hand in front of your face. there are more senses to a body than sight and if life has shown me anything it is not to depend on just one sense as one is easily fooled. all 6 are less so. also half the time when you are in a place that dark, you just need to open your eyes, the world can convince you that there is nothing there when it is just covering your eyes.

curiosity can be a morbid thing, one that wonders how far can i push my body before it quits in protest, how much can one person take before they break, wondering what it would take to survive and if i have it in me to do it. i have always considered thriving a surprise bonus.

    Whatever it takes.

I once read a blogpost written by a female writing instructor with an eating disorder (overeating), who lost a young, talented, beautiful, and overwhelmingly popular student to suicide. What struck me the most was an observation this teacher made-something

to the effect that if only her student had had an outlet, however unhealthy, for her turmoil, maybe-just maybe-she could have hung on just enough to get the help she needed. If only she had gotten wasted, ate too much, or sank into a depression too stuporous to move...or joined an unpopular cult...or whatever. I thought to myself, 'Lady, you just made an observation so wise that (the blog) should be made mandatory reading for every shrink, and every doctor...'

So-in my book-whatever it takes to get thru alive those nites and days when all seems lost-short of violence to others-is acceptable. More than acceptable. Blessings, sending you light.

I look at what I did and I remain critical of myself. If there was nothing that could have been changed or not much, then I was doing alright: it's the circumstances which weren't there to meet my will. If there were things that I miscalculated, then, I have something to keep my mind busy instead of sad: improvement is the answer.

    Daytime candles...lol

nah...Some folks live daily nightmares...My worst day would seem a blessing,to those experiencing challenges,on a far greater scale...

Two factors can make anybody move through the bad days-- implicit faith in the self or implicit faith in the almighty.

Those self-righteous devout Catholics that pity others too much and consider themselves "lights in dark places" and smile when they disagree with something are pretty funny.

My irrational hatred of human life, and my determination to see everyone else die before I do.
