PLEASE READ DISCRIPTION IN FULL. I need a free video converter for Windows XP.?

Question

I need one that is not a free trial and that does not put the programs banner on my video, and I also need the whole video, not half. And it does need to be COMPLETELY FREE!! I do not resell videos, but I do take a lot of videos of my 2002 Mustang GT. The video format I am looking for is WMV and the other one that it needs for Windows Movie Maker. I'm not sure what the other one is called. But that's what I am looking for. Thanks. Casey.

Try Format Factory, its free, no trial, and as you mentioned doesnt put its banner on the video. Its an all-purpose convertor, not just video. But unfortunately, i dont remember the URL. You might wanna try googling it. .

WinFX is the one I use. It coverts all video formats for free and it's completely
Movie Maker is mswmm.

To convert mswmm you first need to save/publish it in Window Movie Maker first.
Instructions

Open Windows Movie Maker. From "Start," click on "All Programs" and then on "Windows Movie Maker" in the list of programs.

Go to the "File" menu and choose "Open Project." Go to the folder that contains the MSWMM file that you want to convert and double-click it to open it.

Publish the MSWMM file as a movie by clicking on "File" and then selecting "Publish Movie."

Enter a name for the movie file that you are creating in the "Publish Movie" wizard when prompted and click "Browse" to choose a folder on your hard drive in which to save the MSWMM file. Click "Next."

Keep all of the default settings on the movie settings screen of the wizard as they are and click the "Publish" button. The MSWMM file publishes as a movie in WMV format. Wait a while this will take long time.

Click the arrow by "Output file format." Select "MPG" or "MPEG" from the list of video file formats.

You can use WinFX to convert mpg or mpeg to wmv.

This uses a command prompt format when converting and you can't access the internet but can still play cards on the computer it works relatively fast!
