Anyone know where i could get specs for a ported subwoofer box?

Im looking for dimensions for a ported box for a pioneer premier TS-W3002D4. If someone could point me in the right direction i would appreciate it.

The specs I found on Pioneers website said:

    1.2cuft enclosure

    3"diameter port

    3.5" port length

This sounds completely insane to me. I mean first of all, 12" ported enclosures are usually around 2cuft and if you have a port that is 3x3.5 that puts the tuning frequency at 60hz! 60hz is gonna sound like SH*T...even 45hz is considered a terrible-sounding purely-SPL tuning frequency. I would contact Pioneer and talk to a technician and see what they tell you. If they give you the same specs...I still don't know...I would probably just build the box at around 1.75cuft and create a tuning frequency of around 35hz.

i'd reccomend NOT using the specs the company gives you. especially if other dude is rite and they suggest a box under 2cu. then again i've heard that sub ran on a small vented box about 1.2 or 1.5 cu and it beat hard. a custom box will always sound better. but if your not really trying to impress just go with a cheap vented box.

Google the model of your sub and itll give you the minimum and maximum required volumes for your specific subwoofer
