Saskatchewan Motorcycle License Laws?

Okay so I am determined to learn how to ride a sport bike this summer, only I know that the laws for getting your motorcycle license in Saskatchewan have changed. I have tried to find them on my own but I can't. I was told by my boyfriend that there are new restrictions as to what size of bike a new rider can drive. But I can't find what those restrictions are ANYWHERE, he has a honda 600rr, and I was planning on learning on this... do I have to get a smaller bike? If someone could post a link that would be great!

The first site below had a bit of info, citing something about 33 horsepower. Seems like quite a lot for a beginner, but you'll have to check that out for yourself.

The second site is for a group that could help you more if you contact them directly.

No matter what you do, be careful! Having a boyfriend who's already a rider may help, but don't fall into the "I've got to keep up with him" trap. If he goes faster than you feel comfortable with, let him go. Get comfortable with shifting before you try anything spectacular.

Bikes are great, but they do have a built-in liability: you don't have any steel between you and the asphalt. Make sure you wear a good suit- kevlar is better. And don't skimp on a helmet for yourself. Gloves and boots are necessary. If you can get a wireless communication gizmo so you and your boyfriend can talk, that's good, too, since biking is a fairly solo activity. Best of luck!!

Not positive but I believe you will be resisted to a bike that has no more than 33hp and for a period of at least 6 months. Your BF's bike is higher than that 33hp, still on the other hand it's not really a good beginner bike so if you can get a Ninja 250 resisted and talk your BF into slowing down while you're riding with him you should be fine.

Or move to the US, here all you need to do is pass the rider's test than you can legally ride the biggest, fastest motorcycle you can afford. ;)

as you're over 21 you're able to do direct get right of entry to this implies after some instructions on a small motorbike you could experience on public roads with an instructor a pair of six hundred . in case you have already got pushed a motor vehicle and function highway sence you're able to easily take some days to bypass the attempt and experience any length motorbike you like yet a six hundred is a great length to start with . pay attention it is an extremely high priced direction ie approximately £six hundred .!

Hi you need to ask locally to where you live as you are currently asking the UK yahoo department and we don't know. Local bike shops should be able to tell you or even you're local Mr Plod, police man, would know. When you get up and riding let us know how you're getting on. Enjoy.
