Channel Catfish with yellow spots on lungs?

I went fishing today and I took some of the fish home to cook and eat.

Ive just gutted two fish, and the last channel catfish, had yellow removable spots on some of its insides.

Are these dangerous? Are they parasites or a type of bacteria?

Is it dangerous to eat this if a fish has this on it?

Update:

The yellow spots were NOT on the outside or the meat of the catfish.

They were in what I believe is the liver, after googling internal anatomy of a channel catfish.

And, when I was preparing them, (im a little careless of the knife when it comes to innards), the spots were not only on the outside of the liver, but throughout the insides as well.

There were no other yellow spots (these were removable), anywhere on the inside, or outside of the fish.

It's quite common; just cut those spots off, and do as you normally would.

If you're referring to the meat, the yellowish stuff is normally just fat and gunk, but nothing harmful to you. Have you ever noticed catfish sometimes tastes really fishy and/or muddy? A lot of times, it is due to whoever is preparing fish not getting rid of those spots. Really, if you don't mind the muddy taste, you don't even have to worry about taking it off.

Just out of curiosity: how big was the catfish with the yellow areas? Normally, the bigger catfish are more prone to having them, which I wouldn't necessarily recommend keeping. The smaller (pound a half to 2 pound) fish are much better eating than the big guys.

Some of your answers are stupid he said the spots (i will call them little round yellow bump) are on the liver, look he said liver not the meat. We have been catching channel catfish that have the same thing on there "LIVER" and we are wondering if it is a parasite or a disease and if there safe to eat, we don't care about the fat in the meat we just cut that out. Dose anyone have a answer to the question please.

Catfish don't have lungs. They have an air bladder. If you found one with lungs you might have a bigger problem.
