Rough estimate of when foster cat will pop(give birth)?

Just took home a new foster cat today, a very obviously pregnant female who came into the shelter as a stray.

I went ahead and set her up in my foster room and built a nest box out of a cardboard box and some extra comfy towels which she seems to like, but while I've seen plenty of pregnant cats and plenty of cats give birth they typically aren't in the shelter system long enough for me to really mentally keep track of their pregnancy because I had no reason to pay attention to it before.

Many times when we see cats as big with pregnancy as this foster they give birth at the shelter, during their stray hold, but that could just as easily be stress related or coincidence.

She's very big around, you'd know she was pregnant the second you saw her, abdomen somewhat hard, nipples pink and large. Obviously since she was a stray cat that came into the shelter I have no idea what her behavior was like before pregnancy and don't even know how she was the first few days at the shelter. Currently she is very affectionate, rubbing, purring, loves bellyrubs and spends about 98% of the time meatloafing or laying on her side.

Anyone with more knowledge of cat pregnancy able to give me a rough estimate of when I could expect her to give birth? A day? A few days? A week? More?

There really is no way to tell, but based on the size you are describing, I would say definitely within the next week. Good Luck with this. I do some animal rescue work and have a mamma cat with 2 kittens only 3 weeks old - it is truly rewarding and I love taking care of them.

she would manage to in all probability consume it so only go away her be for a touch particularly if she would not know you that nicely. replace Oh very happy she has eaten it now. particular i might put in sparkling sheets. a smart hint may be to place some layers down then only do away with one after the different whilst they get grimy regardless of the actuality that whilst my cat had a clutter i got here across no mess after the preliminary delivery as she wiped sparkling and ate everyting. provide mummy cat some nutrition remote from the section and whilst she comes out do only it quickly. they are going to be nice if dealt with yet attempt to be speedy as you will possibly be able to locate mum somewhat retaining. the different questions only ask. I remember annoying approximately all this the 1st time around.
