Does RAM version matter?

i have two ddr3 RAM and the model of the sticks (CMX~~~~) are the same on but on one of them it also says ver 2.3 and on the other 9.1. I bought them at separate times so they didn't come in the same packaging.

Everything about them is the same(clocks, latency etc.) except for the version number

As long as the specs and timings are the same (ex: 2gb ddr3 pc xxxx) than you are ok.
