Wedding dress question......?

I'm getting married on a very tight budget, and I don't want to spend much money on a dress. I'm thinking in the range of $300. Do any wedding dress boutiques carry dresses that are this inexpensive, or am I pretty much limited to David's Bridal?

David's Bridal would be your best choice. Craig's List, Ebay, a sample sale. You could think things like that. You could also go with a white bridesmaid dress or look at prom gowns. There are lots of choices. David's Bridal does have more to try on than any other place and more that will be in the price range than any other.

You are pretty well limited there. You could also try consignment, or if that's really not your thing just go into a local bridal boutique and ask them if they ever have anything around that price or could sell you a floor model (I know it's not called this but my brain isn't thinking right lol) I spent 500 on mine but I really shouldn't have spent that much.

your best bet is to call around your local bridal stores and see if some have limits to their dress amounts...some bridal stores actually have limits and i find that to be rude. i am in the same boat as you are and i have the extra money to go for a bit more expensive dress but i am not all that elegant and i just want a simple dress for no more than $600.so i called around to my local bridal store and i told her before i book my appointment id like to know if you have a certain limit of how low you go on dresses and she said she had a limit of 200.so i booked an appt. for this friday at 2pm..so no davids bridal is not your only choice.call around to your local bridal store and see what they have to offer

Depending on your location, you might have some options for really nice used/consigned dresses in that price range. Not all have been worn, either! Lots of people end up selling their dresses to consignment shops because they change their minds before the wedding (wrong man, wrong dress, gained weight, got pregnant...). That could mean a good deal for you!

I know what you mean. We were on a tight budget too. Have you checked out idonowidont.com? They carry dresses, i believe all new, that were purchased but never worn. I know it sounds sad, but apparently there is enough of a market to have a site like this. They have a dress section. Check it out and see if you find anything you're interested in. Hope this helps.

Check out Dessy bridesmaids dresses. Believe it or not, almost all of their bridesmaid dresses come in white and/or ivory. Granted they are not going to as elaborate as a "real" wedding dress, but I think they're very nice for someone who is on a budget!

Outside of that, you will be hard pressed to get a dress for less than $500 at a bridal salon, unless it's a sample that hundreds of people have tried on, or dress that was special ordered, but never picked up, so they're just trying to get rid of it.

Maggie Sottero has a line of dresses called "Destination", which are less formal, and typically less expensive.

J Crew has wedding dresses as well. They start at $300, though. You can view them on their website, and they have a list of salons that carry them.

Finally, you can try on dresses at a regular bridal salon, but then try to find them cheaper on line. I pasted a link below to a website called BestDressPrice. They claim to have designer wedding dresses at deep discounts. I'm assuming they are located in the US because everything is listed in US dollars and their phone number is area code 803, which is Columbia, South Carolina. If you are at all hesitant about them, call the states attorney and/or BBB to see if there have been any complaints about them.

My only advice is to steer clear of House of Brides. My step daughter had a horrible experience with them before they went bankrupt. They re-opened in our area about a year and a half ago, and I was just talking to a bride who also had a nightmare experience with them (long story...email me if you want to hear it).

I got my wedding dress from the website listed below, and I too am on a very tight budget. This company has done absolute wonders for me. They do not have a store, so I was a bit hesitant, but they will work w/ you on EVERYTHING !!! THEY HAVE BEEN GREAT !!!! I have not had any bad customer service, items arrived before promised date, and they package everything perfectly. I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM. ESPECIALLY JEANNETTE, A BRIDAL CONSULTANT THERE. SHE IS ABSOLUTELY FREAKIN WONDERFUL. GOOD LUCK

you could always go for a formal/bridesmaids dress in white. Thats usually a cheaper alternative. Look for sales - i got my $1200 Angeline dress for $450. Or then there is ebay and places like that.

i think of this is extremely tremendously. purely simply by fact this is marketed as a prom/pagent gown would not advise it is the only time it could be worn. I wore a protracted white gown of the rack and so did 2 of my sisters. We saved an incredible sort of money what exchange into extra acceptable spent on different issues.
