What do you think of this setup?

Kenwood KDC-MP538U head unit with stock speakers (for now), an MA audio HK2000D amp with 2 Kicker CompVR 12's and a 2 farad cap. All of this in a 2005 Dakota Club Cab. Already have everything but the subs, just wondering what your thoughts are on them and suggestions on enclosure types or other subs that can be used with this amp, that will fit in my truck.

Update:

I think the alternator is 235 amp, not for sure but it's the same one they use on the models with power everything and my truck has no power windows, seats, etc. I had a Pioneer Premier Tsw-3002d4 in a custom ported box i built, i think i want to go with a sealed box for better sound quality.

How's your woodshop skills? Draw plans for the sub cainets so they're the right volume and still fit in the cab. Refer to the literature included with the speakers advising cabinet size and port size, if you want to use a port on the cabinet. The box can be from 1.75 to 2.25 cu.ft. in volume.

But, these are dual voice coil speakers, the kickers, so you really don't need two of them. One will do. If you tie the dual coils together, use series or the impedance will be too low. You can spare the few dB's lost with 8 ohm per speaker and the amp won't suffer.

Since you already have the hardware, take your time and research cabinet configurations and types. When you take time to do this, you'll optimise your work for best satisfaction.

This amp will be very hungry for power. A stiffening capacitor will not relieve deficiency. Look into beefing up the alternator and battery or add another battery.
