Spiritually speaking, what kind of bear is best?

Well that's debatable.

Well, black bears are certainly the least dangerous. They are usually the smallest and, unless habituated to humans, are afraid of us. So, making loud noises scares them away. They also are mainly after scraps of food as scavengers.

Grizzlies and polars on the other hand are larger, more aggressive, not scarred away easily, and are more difficult to take down as they have thicker skin and coats. Grizzlies also usually attack to save their young or themselves, so the attack is pretty serious. Anything that is fighting to not lose something is usually more serious about it than something fighting to gain a little something here or there (Black bears scavenging for food).

Polars are the worst. They attack and actively hunt humans for sport. They can and do also track seals over miles and miles of tundra and over the ice with the seal swimming underneath. So, pretty much, they're bada*s is the main lesson there.

In closing, while some bears are worse than others, all bears are public enemy #1. They hate freedom and get a wag of the winger from Stephen Colbert. If Colbert hates bears, I hate bears. That's truthiness you cannot deny. Go ahead and try.
