Christians-- What is your opinion on...?

...using Adderall as a study aid, but without a prescription?

For those that don't know, Adderall is a prescription medication used to treat ADHD, but is also commonly taken by those without ADHD in order to study and to focus on daunting or boring tasks.

How do you feel about Christians using this particular drug without a prescription? Please explain your reasoning.

Thank you!

Update:

Bio-rogue: Whether they approve or not, it still happens... It's a fact. I don't really see your point.

Update 2:

I'm asking for moral reasoning, not medical reasoning... which is why this is posted on R&S rather than Health, or something along those lines.

Update 3:

Negative ratings are actually supposed to be used to indicate whether or not someone has answered the question, and NOT as "I agree/disagree," though that's typically what happens in this category. Since you're not answering the question I'm interested in, then it gets a thumbs down. No big deal, and no reason to take it personally.

If you want the moral argument, you're deceiving yourself mentally. You're also being irresponsible and not trying to recognize your full potential for focusing on things. You're applying a band-aid to something that needs to be fixed/addressed another way.

People with prescriptions obviously (in theory) have been shown to be non-responsive to typical treatment and have a legitimate need for the chemical. So it's basically drug abuse.

  • Neither for nor against. I don't agree with using pills over a long period of time to help you. Mostly not because of religion but because they aren't studied for long periods of time before they're released to the public and often have more side effects than benefits.

Call me Tom Cruse but I'm not a fan of using drugs to solve your problems. Their are many other ways. Quick fixes more often lead to destruction and work is the only way to gain anything.

(just gonna toss this in there) America's biggest problem is its laziness.

well personally speaking as someone who has no real "religion" per say

christians, catholics, mormans and all of those i think is almost cult like, i don't believe in heaven or hell, i dont believe if you do something bad or "sin" your going to hell, but as for them taking drugs, it sounds kind of stupid considering like 95% of america is "christian" and there are still a ton of drug addicts in this county, no matter it be perscription meds, meth, cocaine, heroine. there are still tons of peple how use drugs and call themselves christians. now the real question is, do you htink it is wrong? you need to ask yourself, "what good am i gaining out of this" just because a doctor perscribes it to you doest mean its always good, like i said do what you know to be right, and if it helps you study and acheive what you want then im all for you and good luck, perosnally i use cannabis as my all arond medication but people have differant preferances :)

I think its wrong to use drugs you do not need and cheating to use them to help achieve better results.
