How to fix USB PORTS?

Awhile back my pc froze up and I thought it was fried.. it finally started up and I noticed that the USB ports didnt work.. I have 6 of them and none of them work.

I have went to device manager and uninstalled all the usb devices and it auto installed them again.. but still nothing.. you can plug a USB FLASH drive in and it lights up for a split second then goes out.. its not the flash drive.. I cant get anything usb to work.. I went out and bought a USB WIFI router and cant even use the thing..

In device manager I went to VIEW, and BY CONNECTION and noticed that the DIRRECT MEMORY ACCESS or whatever doesnt have a driver for it.. and It wouldnt install one.. does that have anything to do with it?

If anyone can help me out I really appreciate it.. thanx in advance

Update:

it wont detect them.. I dont understand it.. it really sucks.. I guess Im going to have to buy a card that has usb ports :(

Update 2:

the Dirrect Memory Access Control Panel doesnt have drivers.. could this cause my problem? anything I plug into usb lights up for a split second.. if they were fried, would they even do that? Would scanning for new hardware even find them after uninstalling them if they were fried? Come people :P think.. I need to have this fixed before I take a bat to my pc..

If the usb wont detect even a keyboard or mouse then I'd say the USB is fried !
