What do you guys think of this picture I took?

I just got a new camera and took this pic at the lake behind my house. Here it is after some mild editing in photoshop. Keep in mind that I'm a super n00b and this is my first digicam.

I would crop a majority of the water out and make sure you get the 2 branches out of there that are coming up from the bottom of the pic. It is a pretty picture though.

I agree with Shawnz. It is a nice picture with nice colors, saturation, and exposure. I like the different colors of the trees in the background.

Just crop out the sticks/branches and a little bit of the water, and the picture will be great.

I hope you enjoy photography! I found my passion for photography a few years ago, after I was given my first digital camera.

    Nice location.

Good color and saturation. Nice pic overall, but...

What is the stick on the bottom, in the middle of your picture? It was the first thing I noticed, and it is VERY distracting.

My suggestion? Crop that out: crop a little tighter in a 3:2aspect ratio around the gazebo.

    Cheers!

When photographing, make sure to take in account the entire photo! The branches on the bottom and right hand side ruin the perfect water.

My suggestion would be to zoom in a little closer to the gazebo, there is almost too much water in the foreground and the focus on the gazebo is lost. :)

Too much water. Crop out the distracting sticks and 2/3 of the water. Good exposure.

    A snap shot. Poor composition.

I think it's pretty good, but nothing amazing. Keep working at it!
