i have a metropolitan '08, been riding it last summer. got over 1,200 miles. never did add coolant to it before. now it has little left.

i open the owner manual to see which coolant should i get?

and it says buy the service manual or go see a tech. some people tells me to use my car coolant. but i never told them i use DEXCOOL

    Hello

No problem just mix as you would for your car.

It.s only a Brand name, It is still Anti Freeze that has Anti Freeze, Coolant and Rust inhibitor.

The only thing you need to check and adjust is the Mix as if you PreMix to -30 it will not freeze down to -30 but for cooling you are better off at - 10.

You want the Green stuff-Prestone or anybrand that is green. The GM Dexcool, is orange and while it would work, it is best to not mix it with other antifreezes-my friend John is an ASE master certified tech who works mostly in GM shops and he told me recently not to mix the Dexcool with other brands as it can "Clump"-his words not mine. Apparently there is some bulletin out on this, but not being a car mechanic I would not know.

You can buy the cheapest brand that is okay for use in aluminum radiator.

I use Prestone in my Honda motorcycles.

You can add it to any existing coolant.

use only HONDA BRAND ANTI FREEZE

Honda brand is the only brand with no silicates, and the silicates in store brand anti freeze is responsible for damage to the internal water pump seals.

NOTE: All motorcycle mechanics know that Honda will void any long term warranty if Honda Brand Anti-Freeze is not used!

(I am surprised that the former answer that said they are a motorcycle mechanic ( janice h. ) didn't know that)
