What if you have two periods in one month?

I have been extremely stressed due to a death in the family. So for Jan. I started my period around the 5th, my normal time. I bleed for about 5 or 6 days but it was so light that one tampon would have held it all. So then about 2 weeks later I started bleeding again but that really dark brown that you get on your first and last days. and I did that for about 5 or 6 days. I have not had sex for close to two years, I am 33 and I do not have any sort of std or anything. My first question is it because of the stress? My second question is I am planning a trip for Feb and I want to know when to expect my next period. Would it be from the first one I had Jan or the second? I had never done that before but I had never been through such a stressful time either.

I would plan for both options...at 33 you are well and truly aware of your needs and any signs of upcoming periods.

Its probably a lot easier if you keep an eye out for ovulation mucus...you know the clear sticky stretchy stuff instead of the creamy normal type...once you see that your period is 2 weeks away...thats what I do and it works every time...I never get a "surprise" period.

I hope you feel less stressed soon...take some time out for yourself.
