Disgusting Kitty? Desperate Help Needed!?

I am babysitting my mother's 14 month old grey Tabby, his name is "Smurfette" (Yes, I know, she was sure he was female and named it that), anyway, my mom is gone for a month to visit my sister in another state and I am in charge of her beloved cat, he is a good kitty but lately has decided to pee and poop on my brand new $3,000 leather couch!!!! I haven't even finished paying that couch yet! I am desperate and need ideas, he has several litter boxes around the house and goes out all the time yet every chance he gets he pees the couch, I keep disinfecting it but he keeps doing this!, I don't want to keep him confined to our garage because he likes our company but I am a neat freak and I like tidy things, I can't stand this smell, someone said that this is perhaps because he is away from home or angry at any of our three cats (Two females one male) but they get along just fine and everyone is spayed and neutered, My mother will be back in two weeks but in the mean time I need to keep my couch pee-free, I am watching him like a hawk but I can't do this for two weeks straight, any suggestions?!?!?!?!?

He is marking his territory. Had the same thing happen at my house. Garage might have to be his home.I'm worried about him going outside though. They will tend to wander, and try to go back home when taken to a new spot.Is there anywhere in the house you can keep him with his litter box? I have a Siamese that I took in. He peed everywhere. My mattress, my couch, rugs, & clothes on floor. We thought he had a urinary track infection. But as soon as I put him out in the barn he stopped. He is by himself, and everyday, goes out to the garden. I make sure I have "Lap time " with him everyday. Good Luck ! PS Thank you again so much for your special info.It has really been a blessing. My daughter and ourselves have never been happier!!

he's probably just not happy to be in a new house. i would keep him confined to another room, maybe your bedroom? this way you can still keep him company, he won't have to share a litter box and food and he won't be near your couch. it may be a territorial thing where he's trying to mark his area (you do have a male cat). since this isn't a permanent situation you may have to toss him in the garage when you can't watch him. remember, it's a small animal, keeping them in one room isn't the end of the world, especially for two weeks.

If an animal is particularly ill and an infection has unfold, there could be no longer something you're able to do to get her to eat. you may attempt urge for foodstuff stimulants like felovite or IVs to maintain her electrolyte stability in verify yet in some unspecified time interior the destiny, it could come right down to humanely ending her suffering. there are a variety of of of hazards and hardships exterior and cats that had present day surgical operation are a larger wellness danger whilst it is composed of fights and protecting themselves. This little woman might desire to have been stored indoors risk-free and sound until eventually she became totally healed- a minimum of seven-10 days. i'm no longer specific in case you may place all blame on the surgeon with this one. edit: A vet asserting a cat is well worth saving once you start up therapy isn't the comparable as a vet asserting the final process action is to proceed the course in spite of exchange. The vet reported that the possibility of survival from this way of injury is a million in one hundred and the cat has long gone downhill because of the fact then with an open seeping contaminated wound and she or he's now vulnerable and not ingesting. You already indicated which you're feeling this vet is incompetent and attempting to get greater money from you so why are you putting lots faith in his/her opinion to take added measures to maintain it alive in this situation? in case you won't be in a position to arise with the money for yet another vet opinion and you want to proceed working with an animal that throughout my eyes is probable dealing with lots of discomfort and misery, then it particularly is your selection. I gave the two innovations I had on the thank you to get her to eat- I doubt they are going to be of income with this unfavorable cat yet you look desperate to stay on a particular course until eventually the cat expires. not sure what any human beings can do for you. providing you with BS solutions like make it fowl or purchase it treats might desire to no longer paintings with an exceedingly ill suffering cat. BTW- the vet probable has no longer considered an evisceration like this because of the fact the those days spayed cat possibly bounced off the factor of a tire of a motor vehicle traveling interior the line hence ripping her weakened and those days sewn flesh. As I reported, i do no longer think of you may place the blame on the surgeon with this one.

Sounds like he is rebelling because his owner is gone and he's in a new place. Try covering your couch with towels or a sheet. It won't look very attractive but it will be easier to clean up the mess and keep it off your nice couch.

Does he do it when you are around? If he does, just pick him up and put him in the litter box. You could try squirting him with water (ONLY when you catch him in the act), but I would be afraid he would hold it altogether and make himself sick instead of learning to go in the box.

Is he fixed? If not then it could be a territory thing. Also show him the litter box and keep it in one place. Moving it can confuse him, especially in an unfamiliar home.

Go to the vets office...there is a spray you can put on your furniture (it won't hurt it) that cats will not want to pee there

one of the girls said to shoot water at him.

    shes right.

our older cat has this problem and we just shoot him with a little spray bottle. where it shoots across the room lol.

it works. you should try it?
