Vegetarian. More specifically, a vegan, which is where I'm heading right now :) Why, you ask? Read below.

    FOR THE ANIMALS:

    ************************

Today the majority of farmed animals are:

-confined to the point that they can barely move,

    -denied veterinary care,

    -mutilated without painkillers,

-and finally slaughtered often while fully conscious.

    FOR OUR EARTH:

    ***********************

According to Dr. David Brubaker, PhD, at Johns Hopkins University’s Center for a Livable Future, “The way that we breed animals for food is a threat to the planet. It pollutes our environment while consuming huge amounts of water, grain, petroleum, pesticides and drugs. The results are disastrous.”

    FOR MY HEALTH:

    **********************

“Vegetarian diets offer a number of nutritional benefits, including lower levels of saturated fat, cholesterol, and animal protein, as well as higher levels of carbohydrates, fiber, magnesium, potassium, folate, and antioxidants such as vitamins C and E and phytochemicals. Vegetarians have been reported to have lower body mass indices than nonvegetarians, as well as lower rates of death from ischemic heart disease; vegetarians also show lower blood cholesterol levels; lower blood pressure; and lower rates of hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and prostate and colon cancer.”

I was never and am not a slave and except during my early childhood, I've always enjoyed free choice.

I eat meat and a variety of other foods.

Weighing 260lbs as a meat eater is not the fault of the food but the one who eats it. It's like blaming the flies buzzing all over you when you stink.

    Cruelty free?? Really?

Source(s): the American diabetic Association also recommends fish and seafood 2-3 times a week, low fat milk/dairy and lean meats as part of a healthy diet. http://www.diabetes.org/nutrition-and-recipes/nutr... *deliberatey leaving out contrary but factual information to support a personal agenda is tantamount to lying.*

A meat eater, although I think I am heading towards being a vegetarian, I don't eat as much meat as I use to and now I only eat fish and chicken.

if it tastes good eat it. That goes for veggies and meat alike. They all serve their purpose, and i see it as the animals do me a favor when they did for my consumption. Same as when i eat fruit or veggies. For my life other life is given up, including plant life. As far as suffering, everyone suffers at some point. Why should the animals be exempt?

  • I perfer vegan because it makes me happy and makes me feel the healthiest i've ever been! I was a very unhealthy meat-eater (I weighted 260 now i'm 180!!)

    Meat-eater,

The biggest mistake that people make is that they think that being a vegetarian is healther when it is that big of a differance. There are many many many choices fo meat that are in fact healther than some veggies. Your body has to have protein, iron, calcium, Vitamin B12 and amino acids every day. Even when you find these, your body can’t always utilize them. But, when found in meat, they are highly digestible.

Another thing people do wrong is the portion size of their meat. Like my wine class proffesser told me "Everything in moderation is a good thing"
