Are we on the verge of Revolution?

So I was sitting in my Western Civilization class today taking notes on the French Revolution and then our teacher showed us a book called Anatomy of a Revolution which says that all revolutions start with specific symptoms that worsen until the country/organization finally cracks. The symptoms are

1. A general feeling of discontent between the government and it's people

2. The government being incapable of providing the population with an affordable lifestyle

3. The country's debt gets larger at an uncontrollable rate

4. The government begins to figh with itself

there are more but after i read these i thought gee the country in general tend to be upset with the government, gas prices are forcing transportaion both air and ground (especially truckers) to be unaffordable, our debt is outta control and taxes aren't working to stop it and the democrats and republicans are constantly at eachother's throats...very similar to France,So are we about to have a revolution? what do u think

Update:

in regards to answer #5 what is meant is imports and goods prices ie gas prices or in france's case it was food

Yes,but it will be chaotic because the dumbing-down process by social change agents over the past 40 years is complete. We don't live in a world full of intellectuals as in days gone by.

Things would have to get a lot worse here before you could compare the US to pre revolutionary France. Yeah it could happen someday perhaps, but no its not near at the moment.

I think the global situation in general would make a better analogy to that. With the US as a whole being like the French aristocracy, telling the peasants on whose backs they live to get by on animal feed.

You have no idea how close some people are to locking and loading. But then there are people that have buried their head in the sand hoping it will all just go away. And then, of course, you have the people that are unaware of what is going on. Finally, the crowd that is in complete denial. If the people in this country would unite for one day, There would be NO stopping them.

You are not old enough to have lived in the 70's and early 80's.

    Double digit unemployment

    Double digit interest rates

    Gas rationing

    Disco

We made it through that mess.....

    We will do just fine

People are fat, lazy, and mind numbed by the television. Sadly no real threat of revolution is imminent.

Yes... and considering none of the "three current presidential contenders" are worthy of office... it makes it all the more a realistic possibility...

#2 'government unable to provide the population ...lifestyle'' isn't that your job or are you on welfare?
