How do YOU keep long hair from tangling while riding a motorcycle?
Just wondering how other bikers keep their long hair from becoming horribly tangled when you ride your motorcycle.
My hair is fairly fine and pretty thick (thin hairs, but lots of them) and about 8-10" below the hairline on the back of my neck.
Best ways i've found:
1. put it in a pony tail using 2-3 hair ties spaced out down the length of my bundled hair. Also, making sure the last tie is very near the end of my hair.
2. (looks kinda gay, but it's better than tangled hair!). Start putting hair in a pony-tail, but when i pull my hair through the tie the last time, i only pull it half-way and make sort of a hair loop. I make sure (if anything) only the loop of hair sticks out the back of the helmet. The ends of my hair have to stay inside the helmet and I haven't had any trouble keeping it there. I think this is the easiest method for me...
Anyone else have any experience with this?
I'm not cutting it. I like the way I look with long hair. I've been called "hippy" for a couple years and revel in it. It's more trouble than short hair, but i like it longish while i'm relatively young. When i'm older and have a professional career, i'll cut it. For now, though, it's stayin' long!
Also, thanks for all the serious comments answering my question...
Hairglove..don't know if i could pull that one off. I ride a sportbike and the look of cruiser leather would kinda clash. thanks for the suggestions though.

For my hair (to my a**) I find the only thing that works for me is a low ponytail (base of the neck) then braid it and tie it off on the bottom

i have hair that is almost three feet long and i ride a sport bike, i braid it and use a piece of fabric wrapped around the length and secured with elastic bands.
i also wear my helmit at all times.
they make leather wraps for hair, start searching shops, they are very common.

Exactly that, or a braid with one tie at the end.
A short peice of rawhide works well as a tie, and doesn't get caught in the hair.

My wife wears her waist length hair in braided pig tails and puts thin hair bands every inch down the length.

I do the pony tail thing as well - but depending on what I'm wearing (jacket etc) I will tuck the tail inside my collar. I typically only do this when I get on the bike with wet hair.

Well, I have in order to admit I love girls with long hair... for me, the longer, the better... I honestly can't think of anyone who looked better with brief hair

braids and a bandana around the bangs and over the scalp, tie low under the back of the helmet
