Is a Citroen 2CV a '90s car?
Favourite answer:Not really. The final version was virtually unchanged from the last major revisions in the late 1960s. Even then, the technology was largely the same as the 1948 car which used pre-war technology.
Having said that, the simple design technology was years ahead of its time compared to contemporary designs. It had all-round independent suspension from the start, was FWD with an alloy engine and transaxle, had inboard front brakes to reduce the unsprung mass, and a bodyshell made of ultra thin lightweight steel which was not commonly used in the car industry until the mid 1970s.
So no, it’s not a ‘90s car. Early models are really ‘40s models and late models are really ‘60s cars.
