How can anyone say Obama is defiantly going to win
Rasmussen, the most accurate pollster of both the 2004 election had McCain down by 5 percent and AP poling shows 14 percent still persuadable (i read that as undecided).
21 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoDoes it bother you that in most states you only need to show a drivers license to register to vote.?
That means legal resident aliens who are not eligible to vote under the Constitution but can be in position of drivers licenses identical to those held by citizens could register and be allowed to vote. Some states, New Hampshire for instance, do not even require identification to register let alone proof of residency or legal status. Does this bother anyone?
1 AnswerElections1 decade agoCan we expect more if this kind of thing from an Obama administration?

"Republican legislators have challenged Jones-Kelley's reason for checking on Wurzelbacher as "frightening" and flimsy.
Jones-Kelly also has denied any connections between the computer checks on Wurzelbacher and her support for Obama. She donated the maximum $2,500 this year to the Obama campaign."

First McCain gets Al Qeda's support then the Zombie Party's.

Yesterday on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read "Vote
Obama, I need the money". I laughed. Once in the restaurant my server had on an
"Obama 08" Button, again I laughed as he had given away his political preference
-- just imagine the coincidence. When the bill came I decided not to tip the
server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of
wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to
redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need--I pointed out the
homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight. I went outside,
gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I've
decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was very grateful. At the
end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless
guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry
that I gave away the money he did earn even though the actual recipient "lacked"
the money more. I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow
in concept than in practical application.

1 AnswerElections1 decade agoDo Republicans have a lock on this years election too?
http://www.fsrn.org/content/election-unspun-oct-28...
In Nashville Tennessee, Patricia Earnhardt, attempted to early vote. On her electronic touch screen voting machine, she tried to vote for Barack Obama - but her vote didn't register. Earnhardt requested the help of a poll worker, who tried to high light the Obama button but nothing happened. Finally, the machine chose selected Green Party Candidate Cynthia McKinney, whose name was located 5 rows below Obama's. A poll worker helped her start the process over and her vote finally registered Barack Obama

2 AnswersElections1 decade agoIs freedom of the press in jeopardy?
The Obama campaign called the satirical cover of the New Yorker “Tasteless and Offensive” does he (through his campaign staff) not understand the concept of satire or irony? If he had the power to do something about it 9as in if he is elected president) what does that mean for freedom of the press? On the other hand all of these answers would necessarily apply equally to McCain as well since his campaign representative is quotes as saying “We completely agree with the Obama campaign, it’s tasteless and offensive.”
Can we please try not to bash anyone in answering to this?
4 AnswersElections1 decade agoHow much credibility did Ferraro think she had anyway?
How much credibility can you possibly have being a washed up California politician who's greatest political accomplishment was to be the failed VP candidate for Walter Mondale. Who would listen to her or care what she has to say?
As a reminder the Mondale Ferraro ticket lost in 49 states.

3 AnswersElections1 decade agoWhen and what exactly did Mrs. Clinton say about being a peace broker for Northern Ireland?
I had not heard her say this. Is it something that was manufactured as a smear or did she really say it? It seems prety dumb to try and take credit for it if she was nto really involved.
From http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/ne...
"Hillary Clinton had no direct role in bringing peace to Northern Ireland and is a "wee bit silly" for exaggerating the part she played, according to Lord Trimble of Lisnagarvey, the Nobel Peace Prize winner and former First Minister of the province."
and
"I don’t know there was much she did apart from accompanying Bill [Clinton] going around," he said..."
