Any last message or words before YA! becomes read-only in just 3 hours time?
I've asked and answered thousands of questions here. I've often been rude and opinionated, I've concerned myself with pop culture, and other people, here, have also treated me like crap. And I 've had a good time and I've got no regrets.
Bye bye, YA!
2 AnswersPolls & Surveys2 weeks agoEver read Ayn Rand?
I bought a copy of Atlas Shrugged. I thought it was really, really awful. Like, this sure as hell shouldn't have been written. I did an Officer Barbrady and threw the book away in disgust because I couldn't stand the thought of a charity shop or EBay recipient having to endure reading it.
10 AnswersBooks & Authors2 weeks agoWould you rank Barack Obama as one of the better or worse Presidents?
It's interesting most scholars rank Obama really highly yet he remains heavily divisive.
5 AnswersPolitics2 weeks agoAre ACLU a force for good 👍 or for bad 👎 in your view?
I have read ACLU's view is child pornography should be legal to view but not to distribute, is that the actual truth? 🐄.
6 AnswersPolitics2 weeks agoUK '90s the Conservatives are hated and are tipped to lose the next election after 11 years straight, 2021 Starmer is 7% behind in the polls?
Starmer is like a million times more competent than Kinnock and beats Johnson all the time in PMQs. Why aren't Labour ahead in the polls?
It can't be because of loyalty to the government about Coronavirus, because Johnson's approach has been a shambles (except on vaccines) plus the Americans didn't pull their punches when criticising Trump on Coronavirus, so why would we?
Politics2 weeks agoDo you agree the 22nd Amendment should be altered or repealed and when could it happen?
I dare to dream it could happen even though it's against many' s interests. Possibly in many years' time when the political landscape is different.
1 AnswerPolitics3 weeks agoUK would it be fair to say every Conservative leader after Thatcher has been rubbish?
Major - A grey, poorly-educated nonentity who won in 1992 because Labour hadn't got their act together.
Hague - A washout who only appealed to the rich.
IDS - Like Major, only infinitely more dull and useless.
Howard - Good at being a politician but not at serving the country.
Cameron - Obviously Brexit was his mistake, but his record outside that was just a few years of painful, pointless austerity.
May - Didn't deliver on Credit because she was a Remainer, awful personality and leadership.
Johnson - Far too self-interested, with the attention span of a gnat and the work ethic of a sloth. His saving grace has been delivering Brexit, but he hasn't been as successful on Coronavirus.
2 AnswersPolitics3 weeks agoIs Fox News just a conservative propaganda station (English)?
UK TV is bound by 'impartiality' rules, which in actuality either doesn't have an effect of results in a London-centric, pro-Establishment bias. Off-topic, but the BBC recently employed a high-ranking Conservative boss, so they will be commissioning fewer leftie shows.
2 AnswersPolls & Surveys3 weeks agoDo you read tabloid newspapers?
Such as The Sun here in the UK or National Enquirer in the US? Obviously the left-wing variants such as The Mirror in the UK are just as bad.
They say print media is dead but they still sell in the millions.
3 AnswersPolls & Surveys3 weeks agoAny other guys think Gal Gadot Wonder Woman is super-hot?
Think I have a crush on her. I would.
4 AnswersPolls & Surveys3 weeks agoUK Royal Prince Phillip has passed away at 99. How do fellow Brits feel about that?
I'm definitely not a fan, but I feel sad when any human being dies.
9 AnswersPolls & Surveys3 weeks agoSacha Baron Cohen idiot or genius?
He's definitely low culture, and I find his undergrad nihilism more irritating than important.
7 AnswersPolls & Surveys3 weeks agoDo you like Friends show?
I watched it when I had free time and I had nothing better to do. It was OK but not exactly phenomenal.
Polls & Surveys4 weeks agoWhen YA! shuts down are there other Q & A sites to go on?
SFAIK they all shut down years ago. The others weren't as good as this one, the people were less friendly, more judgemental, and fewer.
3 AnswersPolls & Surveys4 weeks agoWhy did Ghostbusters Answer The Call fail?
Do you think any Ghostbusters sequel \ reboot is doomed to fail? There have been many, many successful sequels, some after many years have passed (the recent Bill & Ted for example). Growing up I loved the Ghostbusters cartoons and comic books.
2 AnswersMovies4 weeks agoHow good a President was Calvin Coolidge in your view?
What's interesting is most scholars regard him as below-average President, but conservatives and even moderates often have a high opinion of him.
2 AnswersPolitics4 weeks agoWill Derek Chauvin's innocence or guilt be determined by the colour of the jury like O J Simpson?
Polls of POC obviously strongly suggest guilt, but those of white Americans put him about 50% guilt. If even 2 jury members cannot agree on a guilty verdict the hung jury would mean an acquittal outcome.
1 AnswerPolitics4 weeks agoIs the YA! shutdown partly because of dummies constantly asking whether the holocaust\moon landing were real?
There was a big increase in anti-semitic questions over the last year or so, and questions about the veracity of the moon landing don't stop.
1 AnswerPolls & Surveys4 weeks agoUK Conservative government since 2010 and bumbling Boris still has a 9% lead in the polls what will it take to get Labour back into power?
I blame Jeremy Corbyn for turning Labour into an anti-semitic, spendthrift mess.
1 AnswerPolitics4 weeks agoSo, farewell YA! Why is this and will you miss it?
YA! was never properly social media in the way the others were. It's like straight-to-DVD social media.
