Yeah, this was asked 5 years ago, with no good answer.  Now it is a relevant question.  Yahoo Answers is shutting down in a couple of weeks.  Note this is not an April Fool's joke.

What is a good replacement for Yahoo Answers?  

-   Has all or most of the same categories

-   Free to join, ask and answer

-   Preferably no sign-up required (or just sign in with an e-mail)

Received letter / payment demand from collection agency for a debt that I did not recognize.

NO DETAILS GIVEN. (?!?!?!?!?) So I initially thought it was a scam...

As a precaution, I pulled my credit report. It showed one account “in collection” from a hospital I’d never been to. (???????)

Called the hospital. They had a small account open in my name for service performed for my EX wife (divorce was finalized shortly after she -apparently- visited the hospital). That was the first I was aware that my wife (now my ex wife) had (apparently) visited that particular hospital. I don’t know why the account was in my name as opposed to my ex wife’s name, but anyway...

I asked the hospital why they had never sent me a bill. They said they had sent me several bills. So I asked them for the address they sent the bill to. It was an address I hadn’t lived at since LONG before my wife (supposedly) visited the hospital. So (of course) I never received the bills.

Consequently, through no fault of my own, and no fault of the hospital*… 

An account ended up in collections before I even knew that a debt existed.

I offered to pay the bill, but the hospital would not accept payment. They suggested I pay the collection agency.

Considering this was my ex-wife's debt and I had no reasonable way to know that a debt was owed even, can I get this deleted from my credit report?

*My ex-wife had insurance, so why was the account in my name?  Also, where did they get the OLD address???

Thinking of moving to Florida.  Have a valid and unexpired Guam driver's license.  Obviously, I won't bring my car from Guam.  But I would need to buy a car right away when I land in Florida.  Because of REAL ID, I wouldn't qualify for a Florida license for probably 4-6 weeks.  I don't want a temporary tag, as I will need to drive out of state.  I don't want to rent.  I want a legally registered car with Florida plates, and I want it registered in my own name several weeks before I will qualify for a Florida license.  Can this be done?  

I'm sure many are aware, it is hard to buy some flavors of diet soda in the supermarkets since all the pandemic restrictions started kicking in.  Major soft drink manufacturers are on the record saying the cause of the shortage is TWO things:

1)  They are running out of aluminum cans to package the diet soda in.  (Ok, that is logical)

2)  They are running out of artificial sweeteners to make the diet soda.  (That does not compute!)

For number 1, a shortage of aluminum cans would lead to a shortage of all flavors of soda in the grocery stores.  But I'm not going to question it.  It makes sense that if more people are staying home, then more soda is sold in aluminum cans.

For number 2...

Imagine you go out to eat in a restaurant.  It could be fast food or casual.  You order a diet soda.  The diet soda will be 18-32 ounces (probably).  And you might get refills, as well.  ***** OR *****

You do NOT go out to eat in a restaurant.  You stay home to eat.  You choose to drink diet soda with your home meal.  Maybe you drink a can.  Or you drink TWO cans of diet soda.  Or you drink a bottle of diet soda.  Or part of a large bottle of diet soda.  Whatever.  Are you drinking MORE diet soda????????????????????

In my mind, it makes sense that if you go out to eat, and order a diet soda....then you are probably drinking MORE diet soda in a restaurant than you would at home.  How is it that people eating at home are supposedly causing a shortage of artificial sweetener?
