What is the purpose of the jib gold card for companies? Do they get more money from the government if an electrician has a gold card or what? Health insurance cost?

Plenty of skilled electricians who are refused work simply because they do not have a gold card. Seems like a huge loss for companies/agencies looking for electricians

I don't own a TV, I don't watch live tv or anything, I don't even WANT to watch anything from BBC or their programs.

But what if I were to accidentally watch a youtube video that somehow included a clip from BBC?

This seems borderline illegal. This is like watching a random youtube video and suddenly halfway through without any warning, a clip of an 8 year old being raped is shown. I didn't want to watch it, but then suddenly the police says ''oh you are a pedophile, you were watching this disgusting thing''.

This whole thing with TV licence is so illegal, they keep harassing me every single month, I told them I don't watch BBC, I complained to the police but they refuse to do anything.

Isn't there a law that says I can watch any sort of clip on youtube without being prosecuted? I mean if I watch a copyrighted movie on youtube, and then the clip gets taken down because it was illegally uploaded, would I REALLY be at fault here? I don't even know which ones are ok to watch and which ones aren't.

Before going to a mechanic to spend 1000 £ on parts that I don't need to replace... I'd want to understand the problem first and ask here.

Car battery is good, always good charge on it and CCA, car always starts from cold start no problem (2 liter 2011 passat, diesel), but after a long 1-2 hour drive when the engine gets around 90 degrees, if I turn off the car for a few minutes... it will crank, battery is good, even got a power booster, but it keeps cranking, cranking, cranking.... refuses to start. I have to wait about half an hour until the engine temperature gets around 70-80 degrees and then I can just barely start the car. I don't have to keep the key in egnition to warm up the engine, I can put the key directly, sometimes it might take a good few 5-10 seconds to start, other times only takes 1 second.

Fuel filter? Glow plugs? Starter? I can't figure out. Ideas? thanks

Neutral lets your car roll and parking gear locks the wheels... but you already have a parking break button, so why not just leave it in neutral and click the park button? Or... why leave it in parking gear and press the parking button? Seems like they could've either removed parking gear and leave parking button OR leave neutral and parking gear but remove parking button... seems redundant!

is the engine connected to the wheels in parking? Is the engine disconnected in neutral? Why did they make it like this? What if it's winter and I want to rev my engine to warm my car up faster before the start of a drive, should I do it in neutral or parking?

I had a passat b7 (2011) for 5 months now, 130k miles and main issue is the battery could only hold 12volts, 360 CCA or such. I bought a new one, bosch, 700 ish CCA, 12volts but measuring it gives ~12.5volts which is good... I change battery to bosch, and... still 12.5 volts!!!! I'd normally say the alternator might be bad but... I've driven over 2k miles with the old battery and only had problems starting the car in the past days.

Do you think in the last few days my alternator died??? :(

I'm with virgin mobile, 9£ for 1GB of 3G... but I want more. I heard EE is 3 times faster and has 4G but all the plans that they have are very expensive for what you get, 20-30 £ for 30 GB or such but they include something like unlimited minutes and text. But I don't care about minutes and texts, I want a cheaper one that focuses on data. Any suggestions? I can't find anything

I know AC would be more lethal than DC but I'm confused as to why some people say amps kill you and then other people say both amps and volts... so it makes sense that it's the watts that kill you. The number of electrons that pass (may it be faster speed from higher voltage or higher number of electrons per given area, from amps...)

But then I think hold on... power lines have high voltage but low amps so that they use thinner copper cables. It doesn't make sense. If higher voltage is lethal, then doesn't that mean it should heat up a cable more if the voltage is higher? So then we'd need a thicker cable for power lines?...

I'm a new driver but I don't understand these people, please give me an explanation, why do most people:

-insist on keeping barely 3-5 meter gap between cars, even when at very high speeds on the motorway. No point, they're not gonna arrive any faster (maybe a few seconds)

-insist on driving above the speed limit and immediately honk and overtake anyone who drives under (i.e. me)

-I use P plates today since I had a very long drive from far away and I'm new. The majority of people wanted to overtake me. I was doing 70 on a motorway, straight line for 100 km, what's their problem? A few times idiots flash me to tell me I need to get out of the lane. WTF? Who do THEY think they are? And they give me very dirty look. What's their problem?!

Can anyone please look in their car and tell me what is the tow hook serial number for a passat b7? I ordered one online, it said it's for passat b7 but clearly isn't. It's bigger than it should be. It has the audi symbol on it and says ''TR'' along with a cryptic serial 8K080565A...

German overengineering... they should've just had one type of tow hook and that's it! ffs!

Hello, is the mercedes c class 2007-2011 better priced than the clc 2007-2011? I'm asking because I have no use for a 4 door car, but I think the coupes tend to be a bit overpriced since the buyer market is smaller? Plus the MPG and size/weight of clc and c class seem to be mostly identical.

So what are the pros and cons when comparing STRICTLY these two cars?
